April Ryan is a journalist and author from the United States who is best recognized for her work as a reporter. Since 1997, April has covered the White House as a White House correspondent. Ms. Ryan has also worked for CNN as a political commentator and for American Urban Radio Networks as the bureau chief for Washington, D.C. Journalist and correspondent April Ryan

April graduated with a B.S. in broadcast journalism and an honorary doctorate in 2017 from Morgan State University, where she studied broadcast journalism. She received an honorary doctorate from Claflin University as well. April began working in the media business as a jazz disc jockey after earning her B.S. degree. She eventually worked as a reporter for radio stations such as North Carolina A&T University and WXYV-FM in Baltimore, Maryland.

In January 1997, she went to work with the American Urban Radio Networks in the White House press corps. April has worked as a White House correspondent under four different presidents as of 2020.
