He was one of the first TV journalists to report from the front lines of the Iraqi military’s fight against ISIS in Mosul in 2016.
When the country was at the center of the crisis in March, Livesay was the first correspondent for an American television network to walk inside an ICU in Italy, where physicians used dive masks as ventilators as supplies ran out. He’s just returned from northern Italy, where cemeteries couldn’t keep up with the number of bodies. In Venice, Livesay met with volunteers who brought goods to people in need in gondolas along the city’s famed canals. He reported this week from Venice that nature is thriving, with streets and canals largely devoid of people and vehicles.
