Dan Cummins Career – Comedy

In 2000, Cummins performed at the now-defunct Laugh’s Comedy Cafe open mic, which was held inside the Season Ticket bar near the Spokane Arena. Cummins finished second in the Seattle Comedy Competition in 2001. COBDOG (Crowe On Bass, Dan On Guitar) was a two-man stand-up and variety act whose highlight was having a radio-friendly version of one of their routines, “At The Coffee Shop,” included on The Bob & Tom Show best-of CD, Bob, And Tom Gone Wild. In 2003, the two parted ways.
Cummins’ performance at the New Faces show at the Just For Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival in 2005 grabbed the attention of both Comedy Central and the talent booker for The Late Late Show. Cummins debuted on Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham in 2006, which was also his first television appearance. On Craig Ferguson’s The Late Late Show a month later, he made his network television debut. In 2006, he appeared in his second major festival, the HBO Las Vegas Comedy Festival. Cummins kicked off 2007 by performing at Comedy Central’s South Beach Comedy Festival and then booking over 100 college shows at the NACA Nationals college booking convention in Nashville.
