As a news anchor for KOLD News 13 (CBS) in Tucson, Arizona, Marries is a journalist from the United States. In June 1999, he started working at the station. Dan is an evening news reporter for KOLD News 13 in Tucson, Arizona.

While a student at Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colorado, Dan started his career in television news in 1995. His internship helped him land his first job in journalism, which was as a morning anchor and noon weatherman. Later, he worked for the media in Mankato, Minnesota, Yuma, and ultimately Tucson. He also spent four summers while in college working as a wildland firefighter for the Bureau of Land Management. Dan is a very involved member of our community. He was the first president of the Optimist Club of Casas Adobes, which he formed.
Throughout the Christmas season, that club has adopted up to 30 less fortunate families for many years, making sure the kids had presents under the tree and food on the table.

Dan is also a founding member of the Greater Tucson Fire Foundation, which provides funding, equipment, modern training, tools, and support for survivors and educational initiatives to the local fire department. He spends time with kids and teaches them the value of education as a volunteer each year during Love of Reading Week. Additionally, he visits me frequently. In order to thank veterans for their service, he frequently visits the Southern Arizona VA Medical Center.
