David Joseph Platt is an evangelical Baptist from America. From 2006 through 2014, he served as senior pastor at the Church at Brook Hills in Birmingham, Alabama.

He was the youngest megachurch pastor in the country at the time. Platt presided over the International Mission Board from 2014 to 2017. In 2017, he was appointed pastor-teacher at McLean Bible Church. He is the author of Radical: Taking Back Your Faith from the American Dream, a New York Times Best Seller. The book Follow Me: A Call to Die is among the others. David Platt Career Ministry

The Church at Brook Hills in Birmingham, Alabama, appointed Platt as its new senior pastor in 2006.

He was ordained as a megachurch pastor at the early age of 27 in the US.
Platt was chosen to lead the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention in 2014. One of the biggest missionary sending agencies in the world is the International Mission Board.

Platt started working as the temporary teaching pastor at Vienna, Virginia’s McLean Bible Church in February 2017. He continued to serve as the International Mission Board’s president during this time as his principal responsibility. Platt was announced as the pastor-teacher of McLean Bible Church in September of that same year. He announced his departure from the IMB in February 2018 following the appointment of his replacement.

When President Donald Trump unexpectedly stopped by McLean Bible Church on 2 June 2019, Platt prayed for him during the Sunday services.
Later, Platt wrote a letter outlining the circumstance and his prayer, citing 1 Timothy 2:1–6 as his inspiration and underlining the biblical command to pray for people in positions of authority.
