Donnie McClurkin is a gospel singer from the United States of America as well as a contemporary Christianity clergyman. He has won a Dove Award, two Soul Train Awards, two BET Awards, ten Stellar Awards, three Grammy Awards, and one NAACP Image Award, among other honors.
McClurkin established the “McClurkin Singers” while he was a teenager. He later created the “New York Restoration Choir,” which began recording music in 1975.
McClurkin joined Marvin Winans’ Perfecting Church in Detroit, Michigan, as a co-minister in 1989. McClurkin was Winans’ assistant for more than a decade. He was ordained in 2001 and currently serves as a pastor.

The loss of the child McClurkin caused the family to be torn apart. Donnie was sexually molested by his great uncle and then by his great uncle’s son as he fought to come to terms with his brother’s death. With two of his sisters suffering from drug misuse, the family has been through a lot again. With all of the drama in his childhood, Donnie found consolation in visiting church after being introduced to gospel singer Andraé Crouch by an aunt who sang background vocals with Crouch. McClurkin’s passion for music was sparked by their meeting, and he later became his mentor.
