Miss Mai started her work as a makeup artist for MAC Cosmetics at the age of 18 while still residing in San Jose, California. She worked her way up as a personal trainer, eventually traveling the world to work with celebrities like Christina Aguilera and Alicia Keys. As a result, she’s worked as a celebrity makeup artist for MTV’s Total Request Live, KCAL Los Angeles, and Good Day Sacramento, among others.
Mai started auditioning for local television networks in 2003, using self-written scripts to showcase her hosting abilities. Soon after, she was hired to co-host the International Channel’s Asian American magazine-style show Stir. Later, the California Music Channel in San Francisco engaged her to present her own music countdown.
