Jeff Pegues Career
Pegues was named a CBS News Correspondent on May 29, 2013. Four months into his career, he was designated CBS News’ Transportation Correspondent. In late 2014, he was promoted to CBS News Justice and Homeland Security Correspondent, one of network news’ most tough and high-profile assignments. Pegues gave the commencement speech at his former school, Miami University of Ohio, in May 2019.
Before joining CBS News, Pegues served as a correspondent for WABC-TV in New York City. He won many Emmy Awards during his almost ten-year employment at WABC-TV (2003-2013). He is recognized for breaking the tale of David Goldman and his search for his child around the globe. Jeff was also commended for his excellent coverage of Hurricane Sandy. He reported on rising water levels and flames in Queens as the hurricane made landfall in New York City. He covered Hurricane Rita in Texas in 2005.
Pegues formerly worked as a reporter for WBAL-TV in Baltimore, Maryland, where he was nominated for an Emmy. He worked as an evening anchor for WSVN-TV, a Fox station in Miami, Florida.
