In seasons four and five of The Secret Life of the American Teenager on ABC Family, he played Jacob Bowman Gudina. Grace Bowman’s half-brother Jacob and Tom Bowman’s adopted younger brother are both the children of the late Marshall Bowman. Marshall was created as a result of a liaison that he had with another woman when he was married to Kathleen Bowman.
In the episode They Gotta Eat, Jacob made his television debut while Kathleen and her husband Jeff Tseguay were visiting Zimbabwe. Kathleen is unhappy to discover that Jacob is Marshall’s child. Jacob wants to spend the summer with her in California when she returns so he can get to know his siblings. When Kathleen decided to let him join them at the end of the episode Suddenly Last Summer, Jacob finally got what he wanted. Despite the fact that it is never made clear why Jacob returned to South Africa, he finally decides to depart the nation before the start of the school year. Jacob is never again mentioned in the rest of the series after “Shotgun.”
