Jovana Lara Career
She started out working weekends for KESQ in Palm Springs. After reporting for a year, Jovana was elevated to weekend anchor. To hone her journalistic talents, Jovana got a second job with the Orange County News Channel. She worked as a reporter for KNSD in San Diego before moving to Palm Springs and Orange County.
Jovana received an Emmy for a report on a little community near Tijuana that was wiped away in the 1997 El Nino mudslides during her first year in San Diego. That year, two more stories received Emmy nominations. The San Diego Press Club later recognized her achievements.
Since joining ABC7 Eyewitness News in 2000, Jovana has won four Emmys for her work on Vista L.A. as a co-host.
