Mike Embley Career

He began his career in 1983 with BBC Wales’ Wales Today, then moved on to all-consumer problems show Watchdog in 1987 and Public Eye in 1989. He was the first British reporter to visit San Francisco to cover the earthquake while working for Public Eye. Embley then worked as a reporter and producer for ITN’s Channel 4 News before joining the BBC as a reporter for its flagship One Way ‘Clock News, Six Sequence ‘Clock Information, and thus ‘Clock News broadcasts.

Embley is now a substitute presenter for Nature on BBC Two and has done two films for Panorama. Embley joined BBC World in 1995 and remained for two years before becoming the main heir of Newsroom South East, the BBC’s regional press app for London and the South East of England. Embley returned to BBC World as a secretary when the show was replaced by two distinct regional bulletins (BBC London and South East Now) in 2001.
