Shiri works as a morning meteorologist for Boston 25. In November 2012, she began her employment with the station, where she has remained since since. Before joining WFXT, she was a meteorologist at Miami’s WTVJ, NBC6. Shiri has had positions as a meteorologist and environmental reporter at WWLP-TV22, an NBC station in western Massachusetts. In 2007, Shiri graduated from UMass Lowell with an M.S. in Atmospheric and Environmental Science after skipping pre-algebra in the seventh grade to follow her ambition. She also spent three years predicting at WWLP-TV22 in Springfield, Massachusetts, staying true to her real New England roots.
While working for WTVJ, Shiri and her coworkers’ yearly Hurricane Specials earned them two Emmy nominations. In 2012, the American Meteorological Society granted Shiri CBM accreditation. She is aware of how challenging it is to predict the weather in New England. She has accurately predicted everything from ice storms to severe droughts.
