Stav Danaos Career
Stav sought a career as a presenter at the BBC Weather Centre in December 2006. Stav began working with the famed team in February 2007, after a successful screen test and subsequent interview, delivering the weather on BBC Nations and Regions radio programs. He began appearing on BBC regional news shows such as Reporting Scotland. He’s also worked as a presenter in Newcastle, Northern Ireland, and Birmingham.
Stav has had the chance to broadcast regional weather on television as part of leave cover for the regional presenters, in addition to producing world weather articles for the web and being in charge of the Ceefax weather sites. As part of his TV training, he created a television showreel. In addition to his great interest in weather, Stav enjoys traveling and cooking in his leisure time and considers cooking as one of his favorite pastimes. He is an exceptional cook who has worked with an independent catering firm providing unique meals for elite private parties and weddings. He is also an avid environmentalist and a member of numerous organizations, including the RSPB and the Woodland Trust. Stav enjoys a good long ramble and plans a weekend getaway with several of his best pals every few months. His favorite walking areas are the West Country, North Wales, and the Peak District. One of Stav’s major goals is to walk the whole 630-mile stretch of the Southwest Coast Path! Stav relocated to Glasgow’s Pacific Quay in 2010 to work for BBC Scotland. He was a breakfast TV broadcaster and a regular voice on a Good Morning Scotland program. Despite enjoying his time in Scotland, Stav returned to London in 2013 to join the UK and global weather broadcasting teams.
