He has worked for and is no stranger to Atlanta news. Tony graduated from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois, with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and went on to work for his first full-time reporting job at a television station before finishing his studies. He started his career at WIFR-TV in Rockford, Illinois. Tony relocated to Atlanta from Madison, Wisconsin, and Las Vegas, Nevada, where he worked as an anchor and investigative reporter.
Tony has covered nearly every major event in the Southeast since arriving to Atlanta, including hurricanes, the Virginia Tech mass shootings, tornadoes, and the hunt for and capture of Olympic Park Bomber Eric Rudolph. For Southeast Regional Programming, Tony has won seven Emmys. He received a National Spot News Emmy Award nomination for his helicopter footage of a high-speed chase through Atlanta in 2002.
